Hero Cat Comes To The Rescue After Owner Gets Locked Outside

"He was so proud of himself when I got in" 😸

Boko, a rescued stray, found a sweet way to return the favor.

Last year, college student Gabby Tropea took in the lonely tabby cat after finding him living as a stray on her campus in Texas. Since then, the two of them have been inseparable.

But recently, a mishap at home threatened the connected-at-the-hip thing Boko and Tropea have going.

The other day, Tropea left Boko at home for a moment so she could walk her sister Isabelle to school. What Tropea didn't realize, as she stepped out the door without her keys, was that her sister had set the door to lock behind her.

Upon returning, Tropea realized she was unable to get back inside. She wasn't the only one concerned.

"I got to the front door and Boko could hear me trying to get in," Tropea told The Dodo. "He started crying and scratching at the door."

Tropea was stranded — but she wasn't trapped outside for long.

Soon, Boko saved the day.

What to Do in Different Lockout Situations

Being locked out is probably one of the worse situations that a person can be in. Whenever you are in this situation the first thing you shouldn’t do is freak out, just stay calm, and either call a locksmith or find your way back onto your property. There are ways to make it back inside without damaging your house, so just remember the number one thing is your safety whenever you encounter these unfortunate situations.

Lockouts are a daily thing, they are probably the number one thing locksmiths around the United States get called on for support. They are never planned (which is obvious), but no matter what be careful. For some people, this is a daily thing, and for others, this is something that never happens, so in these situations, there needs to be a plan on how to get back in.

Too Many Different Locks:
This is actually a problem depending on how big your house is, the locks on your front door might be a different lock then the locks that keep your garage locked. Just think about the number of locks you probably have to keep track of, from your residential locks to your business locks, to even the locks that keep your car safe. So, keeping track of all the keys you own, and the locks that are with it are important in this job of trying to keep track of the locks you have.

This might actually become a problem if every single key you own is on the same key chain. If that key chain is lost then the rest of your keys are probably gone as well. This is just something to think about, but if you have more keys made this problem might be able to be fixed.

Car Lockouts:
Your car has 3 to 5 locks depending on the make, model, and if you had any other upgrades added to your car. Lockouts involving vehicles are the most common, and that’s why most locksmiths are mobile instead of being in a central location so they can be prepared to assist you with your lockout situation. This is also due to the amount of time we spend in a vehicle and going in and out of the same car might cause you to accidentally lose your keys. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about because it happens to the best of us.

So, if you are ever in this situation and you’re stuck in the middle of nowhere then the best thing that you can do is to call an expert locksmith in your area. Normally the locksmith in your area will be by your side within 30 minutes or less (depending on where you live), so the best thing to do is to just remain calm and stay by your car until the locksmith makes it there.

Rent Situations:
If you lock yourself out of your apartment, or a house that you rent, you can always just call the property manager to help you out and give a new key or to come to the location and to help you get back on to the property you’re living at.
